everything android : Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet hands-on and first impressions

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet hands-on and first impressions
MobileBurn.com - The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is the comapany's effort to produce an Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet that is geared towards the business user, while still providing features that consumers will appreciate. By and large, it is a typical, 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet, with a 1280 x 800 pixel display and dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Build quality lives up to the ThinkPad name for the most part, and the ThinkPad Tablet certainly feels solid in your hands. A slew of full-size ports grace the device, and Lenovo also has a stylus with an active digitizer for pen input. The stylus is a neat concept, and might work for some users, but it likely won't appeal to most. Unfortunately, despite running what Lenovo says is final software, the ThinkPad Tablet that we got to play with was rather sluggish and buggy, and seemed to be slowed down by Lenovo's custom widgets and interface. The ThinkPad Tablet can be ordered now from Lenovo with prices starting at $499 for the 16GB version. More info: www.mobileburn.com

everything android : Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T; ) live first look and hands-on

Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T;) live first look and hands-on
MobileBurn.com - The Galaxy S II for AT&T; is the US version of the phone that is most similar to the European model that was released a few months ago. It sports a 4.3-inch, Super AMOLED Plus display, dual-core, 1.2GHz, Samsung Exynos processor, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface. In your hand, the AT&T; Galaxy S II feels just the same as the European version, meaning its very light and thin, but very plasticky feeling at the same time. As expected, the dual-core processor had no issues pushing around homescreens and menus, and apps opened up with little to no lag. The powerful speed is also seen in the browser, as pages loaded very quickly, and panning and zooming were effortless. AT&T; has yet to release pricing information and an exact release date for the Galaxy S II, but it says that we should be seeing it hit shelves in the coming weeks. More info: www.mobileburn.com

MobileBurn.com - The BlackBerry Torch 9810 by Research In Motion is the second member of the Torch family of smartphones to be released on AT&T;, following in the foot steps of last year's 9800 model. The new 9810 features twice the processing power, four times the resolution (VGA), and 50 percent more RAM than the original. There's also 8GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. everything android : Facebook Messenger app for Android video tour

Facebook Messenger app for Android video tour
MobileBurn.com - Facebook has released a new stand-alone messaging app for the iPhone and Android smartphones that marries its Facebook Messaging service with the group messaging app Beluga that the social network purchased earlier this year. Called Messenger, the new app allows you to quickly and easily access your Facebook messages and chats, and start new single or group chats with both your Facebook friends and those in your phone's contact list. The app has location based features as well as innovative image sending options that let you pick a photo from your phone's gallery, or use Bing Image search to insert an image from the web. The new Facebook Messenger app is free and available in the iTunes App Store and Android Market now. More info: www.mobileburn.com

everything android : Samsung Exhibit 4G (T-Mobile) video review

Samsung Exhibit 4G (T-Mobile) video review
MobileBurn.com - The Samsung Exhibit 4G is a mid-range Android smartphone with features that would have been top of the line only a year ago. It has a 3.5-inch, WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) display, and is powered by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor. Refreshingly, it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a pared-down version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface. This, coupled with the fast processor, allows the Exhibit 4G to perform admirably, especially for its target market. The 3 megapixel camera leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to speed of image capture and autofocus, but it is equipped with a LED flash for low-light pics. The Exhibit 4G is well-built and feels nice in the hand thanks to its soft touch coating on the back. You can pick up the Exhibit 4G from T-Mobile now for about $99.99 on-contract. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 TouchWiz update video tour
MobileBurn.com - The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi edition has received an update that includes Samsung TouchWiz user interface - the first such for an Android Honeycomb device. While early versions of TouchWiz were quite unpopular, the more recent versions of the software have proven to be quite easy to use and attractive, and the Honeycomb version is no exception. Not only is the Tab easier on the eyes, but Samsung has added a lot of solid functionality that Google failed to implement itself. More info: www.mobileburn.com

everything android : LG Thrill 4G (AT&T;) unboxing and video tour

LG Thrill 4G (AT&T;) unboxing and video tour
MobileBurn.com - The LG Thrill 4G is AT&T;'s version of the LG Optimus 3D that debuted to European markets a little while back. It is physically the same as its European cousin, and features a 4.3-inch, glasses-free 3D display, dual 5 megapixel cameras for 3D still and video capture, and a dual-core 1GHz processor with dual-channel memory. Unfortunately, it is still running Android 2.2 Froyo instead of the more recent 2.3 Gingerbread OS, but AT&T; has promised that it will be upgraded at some point in the future. Like the Optimus 3D, the Thrill 4G is a very fast performer, though there are points, such as when launching the camera app, that it can be painfully slow. LG has customized the version of Android on the Thrill 4G with its own UI, which we find usable and not too intrusive. It borrows a lot from Samsung's TouchWiz UI, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The Thrill 4G will be available from AT&T; soon for $99.99 on contract. Be sure to check out our videos of the LG Optimus 3D (www.youtube.com & www.youtube.com more looks at the hardware and software. More info: www.mobileburn.com

T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide 1080p sample video
MobileBurn.com - A sample 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel) video clip recorded with the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. As you can hear in the video, the Slide's noise canceling gets easily confused, and makes for some weird audio in videos. The Slide will let you zoom and autofocus while shooting, which is a neat feature for creative videography. However, zooming with the volume keys on the phone will cause a fair amount of camera shake, as will tapping the screen to refocus. More info: www.mobileburn.com
